95. Steps...

I am so glad that Nuchu is nearing her 100^th one… and it makes me all the more happier writing a guest post for her! Congrats da Nuchu… happy 100^th to you and I pray that we get to read more of you and may you grow strong and wise with each write.

Since I am asked to write a guest post for you, I would write about something that I have learnt in my life…something that I have observed very closely.

Have we ever seen a baby taking its first step? I have seen my cousin when he took his first step… the happiness that twinkled in our eyes that day… how elated we were!! Why? What makes us happy? After all it’s just that he has learnt to walk, isn’t it? It is a natural phenomenon…then why this happiness that cannot be explained in words? It is simply because… we consider it as his first big step towards something even bigger in life!

Similarly, everything that we do is a step towards something big… For example, we all went to school…our parents wanted us to do well in studies, why? Just because education creates awareness and makes us a better citizen! We all have certain dreams to be fulfilled and naturally, we work to achieve it…isn’t it? Everything we do is a step we take to move closer to realizing our dreams.

We have different sort of people in this world… some are dreamers or visionaries, as I call them. These ‘visionaries’ dream a lot… to an extent that it might sound unrealistic to a few. They dream, take their steps, work towards it and achieve it! The other category of people is the ones who simply dream and then they become ignorant of it. They lack that energy and motivation to take that ‘step’.

To make a difference, to survive in this world where the rule ‘survival of the fittest’ applies, to stay happy in this world…one needs to work towards it; and as I talk about it often…everything lies in you! Each decision is important in life however small it may be. Some decisions may be very difficult to take, but taking that ‘step’ would be for your better! You would need strength to take it, but in the end, it will be worth it. What choices you made in the past determines your present and what choices you make today will determine your future. May be, the choices you make some day will go wrong, but with every wrong choice you will learn!  One should make wise choices and have the strength to take a step… a step closer to happiness, to success.
